Bret Barker

Bret is a distributed wind analyst contracted to the Wind Program at the US Department of Energy. As subject matter expert for distributed wind energy systems, Bret’s primary role is as a strategic planner, identifying opportunities to reduce the cost of wind energy from distributed systems and linking them to Program R&D priorities and investments. In addition, Bret provides management support for a portfolio of public investments in wind technology development, market acceleration, and outreach initiatives. Prior to his work supporting the DOE, Bret spent several years in project management, product design and development. Bret holds a BFA degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design.
