ICC-Small Wind Certification Council

The Small Wind Certification Council (SWCC) develops and implements quality product certification programs for small and medium-sized wind turbines, and promotes the benefits and applications of wind technologies to the public in conjunction with renewable energy organizations, the distributed wind industry, government agencies, and other stakeholders.  SWCC is now part of ICC-SRCC, a member of the International Code Council family of companies. This gives SWCC customers and consumers greater resources to draw upon when developing or considering the addition of small and medium wind power alternatives to augment the energy efficiency and resilience of homes, building and communities. The goals of SWCC’s activities include:

  • Supporting the use of distributed wind turbines in North America and internationally.
  • Fostering the exchange and dissemination of information concerning turbine energy and sound level performance.
  • Supporting and fostering appropriate government regulations and legislation related to wind technology issues.
